Mariah Carey wears slippers with a six-inch heel.
The singer-and-actress is famed for her individual style, and is rarely seen in anything which isn’t figure-hugging. She loves showing off her body, and believes sky-scraper heels are the only footwear which suit her look.
Mariah, 40, has worn high shoes for almost all her life, and is now so used to them she finds it hard to walk in flat footwear. "This height of heel is what I wear. Even my slippers. I can't even walk in flats," she said.
The star has previously revealed shoes without high heels give her blisters. She believes her feet are built to wear big heels, explaining she used to walk on her tiptoes when she was 12. "I guess I'm a heel girl. I can run in them. I could swim in them if necessary," she has said.
Despite taking her appearance very seriously, Mariah was happy to appear as a dowdy social worker in new movie Precious. She plays Miss Weiss, who tries to help an abused teenager. Mariah wears no make-up and ill-fitting clothes in the movie, and has previously admitted she was horrified when she was made to don a fake moustache.
Director Lee Daniels admits people were amazed he cast her as she is so far removed from the character. He made her readjust her posture, explaining her dedication to high heels caused problems.
"She walks — even in her home — on her f**king toenails! I said, 'This woman is not going to work if you're walking like Princess Tippy Toes,'" he told British newspaper The Observer.

madonna is old yet naked
cristiano ronaldo's amani pix
e's famed for crunching more than 3,000 sit-ups a day. And soccer stud Cristiano Ronaldo shows off the impressive results in a new Emporio Armani underwear ad.
The Real Madrid star takes over from David Beckham, 34, who caused a sensation with his rippling six-pack.
And Ronaldo, 24, seems set to do the same when these sizzling shots hit the billboards next month.
Armani say the pouting Portugeezer has "the perfect physique" and is "the essence of youth". Well, he's certainly got kecks appeal.
Wow! He socks it to me - Polly Hudson Mirror columnist
You can't comment without being fully informed - which is why I spent hours staring at these photos. Now for my considered opinion: PHWOAR.
Ronaldo's always been a bit of a joke to me, famous for carrying a manbag, having a mum who shares his, um, unusual fashion sense and playing that boring round ball game.
But that's pants history now. Come on, whatever you think of him, you can't argue with that body, can you?
Apparently, there's a head on top - though I still haven't looked up that high yet. Yet I'm pleased Ronaldo's resisted the temptation to stuff a banana and two satsumas down his knickers like David Beckham seemed to have done for his Armani pose.

david beckham's "bodies tatts"
With sleeve tattoos taking over both arms and numerous designs fighting for space across his torso, David Beckham’s commitment to body-art would make a veteran Hell’s Angel proud.
His latest piece of needle work, a depiction of Jesus on his lower right abdomen, received its first public airing at the weekend during AC Milan’s 3-0 win over Juventus.
Here below, we chart the history of the formerEngland skipper’s seemingly never-ending collection of tattoos.
David first got the body art bug when he became a dad in 1999. To commemorateBrooklyn ’s birth, the then Man United star had his son’s name written in gothic script across his lower back.

Yes, there's no place like home
I HATE to admit it but, yes, I was choked by the Scotland Homecoming video. I donĂt know whether it was Chris Hoy with his Olympic gold medals, or Sam Torrance on a windswept golf course beneath a brooding Scottish sky.
Or maybe it was the treacle tones of old Sean against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, declaring his love for the auld country.
But a little tear welled up, as a parade of Scottish celebs sang a line from that stirring Caledonia masterpiece.
It was a kind of epiphany moment for me, when I finally realised I might be needing therapy.
You see, from where I'm sitting, basking in the afternoon Spanish sunshine, home should be the very last thing on my mind.
Who in their right mind would want to go back to the snow, to the black afternoons and freezing nights?
So I must be needing treatment, if I've been seduced by a cheesy video.
I really wanted to write a column that took the whole concept of the Homecoming apart. I wanted to tell Alex Salmond that we're far too clever to buy into this tartan-clad nonsense, spending a fortune on promoting a rousing call to the scattered Scottish diaspora across the world.
